Teenage youth, their parents, and others who work with youth are invited to a workshop on
Faith, Youth, and the Military, 9 am -- 1 pm on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002 at
First Mennonite Church, Allentown.
Titus Peachey (MCC Director of Peace Education) will lead this interactive,
practical workshop for youth and adults on the meaning of Christ's peace in a time of war.
Role plays, small group discussion, and question/answer times will create an engaging
learning environment for everyone. Bring your questions about conscientious objection to war,
Selective Service guidelines, a potential draft, military recruitment and peace education.
Titus Peachey is a counselor on the GI Rights Hotline; from 1970 to 1973 he lived and worked in Vietnam as a conscientious objector to war.
Lunch will be provided during the program, and pre-registration is requested by October 10th (there is no registration charge). For further information and registration respond to Melissa Beidler (beidler@hometownutilicom.org, 610-683-7076) or Leslie Rafaniello (draf@enter.net, 908-859-6087). For additional information about Mennonite Central Committee programs see ask-a-vet, clusterbomb, and the MCC-US web pages.
