The 2004 sale is being held at the Ten Thousand Villages store in Souderton, PA, to provide a much larger selection of gifts than previous sales in Allentown.

Explore the true art of giving. For three days this November 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 2004; First Mennonite Church of Allentown will host a sale of exquisite handcrafts from around the world for the holiday season. Ranging from folk art to holiday heirlooms, discover beautiful treasures for those you love. Not only does this sale provide an international market place of fairly traded handcrafts for area shoppers; sales directly benefit artisans in more than 30 countries.

Included in this sale are pottery; jewelry; toys; musical instruments and hand loomed textiles.

Proceeds from this sale go toward giving artisans the ability to better provide for their families; by giving them a fair wage for their creations.

The handcrafts are marketed by Ten Thousand Villages. For 57 years this non-profit organization has provided vital, fair income to Third World people by providing a market for their handcrafts and by telling their stories in North America. Ten Thousand Villages is a program of the Mennonite Central Committee.

Where is Ten Thousand Villages?

The Souderton store address is 787 Route 113, in The Souderton Center located along Route 113, very close to the Route 309 overpass. The store is at the far end of the shopping center, with ample parking. From route 309 North, take the Souderton Exit and turn right at the stop sign. Then proceed to the very next light and turn right again into our shopping center. The store is located at the end of the strip, with lots of parking. From route 309 south, exit at the Souderton exit. At the stop sign, turn left (this is crossing over 2 lanes of traffic). At the SECOND light, turn right into the shopping center and continue to the end of the strip where our store is located. Call the store if you have questions. (215)723-1221

How to Find the Souderton store:
From Allentown and Quakertown, southbound on Rte 309:

  1. Exit at the Souderton exit.
  2. Turn right at the stop sign.
  3. Turn right again into "The Souderton Center." Ten Thousand Villages is at the end of the mall.
